Senator Kirk Watson offers proposal to limit practice of acupuncture by Doctors of Chiropractic

THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, January 11, 2017, The Texas Sunset Commission will hold a decision making meeting on the Texas Medical Board’s upcoming Sunset legislation.

Included in the issues to be voted on at this meeting is Senator Watson’s Proposed New Issue #11, intended to: “Prohibit a chiropractor from practicing acupuncture in Texas unless the chiropractor holds a license to practice acupuncture issued by the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners.” You can read the full proposal here.

BETWEEN NOW and TUESDAY, JANUARY 10th we need as many Licensed Acupuncturists, students, patients, and supporters of acupuncture AS POSSIBLE to contact the offices of Sunset Commission members and express support for Senator Watson’s proposed new item #11.
